The Bergendorff scholarship was founded in 2022 in honor of Anders Bergendorff, the former program director of the master programme in Toxicology at IMM.
The Bergendorff scholarship supports summer internships for students at the program, and the awardees present their projects at the annual Bergendorff seminar.
This year’s event was held November 13th where the scholarship holders presented their projects for students, teachers and supervisors:
- Anna Maria Glowacki: In vitro-In vivo comparison of gene expression changes after exposure to fossil fuel and renewable fuel combustion particles, which was performed in Anda Gliga’s group at IMM.
- Anna Herbert: Towards development of NAM-based approaches for identifying Endocrine
Disruptors, which was performed in Anna Beronius’ group at IMM. - Javiera Lizama Fabio: Toxicological assessment of 2-methylanthraquinone in two in-vitro models, which was performed in Felipe de Oliveira Galvão’s group at IMM.
- Zhiqi Yao: Rare earth metal (REM) nanoparticles: cytotoxicity assessment using an in vitro model, which was performed in Bengt Fadeel’s group at IMM.
The program also included some highlights of the coming semester of the programme and presentation from a Toxmaster alumni. The event was rounded off with refreshments and mingle.
