Ten MMK researchers receive grants from the Swedish Heart and Lung Foundation

In the Swedish Heart and Lung Foundation's latest call, research grants of SEK 20.3 million were awarded to ten researchers at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery. We congratulate:

Joy Roy, Vascular Surgery, receives SEK 2 025 000, research project "A patient specific approach to predict Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Growth, Rupture and complications after treatment".

Anna Falk, Thoracic Surgery, receives SEK 456 000, research project "Förbättrad återhämtning efter kritisk kardiovaskulär sjukdom – nya arbetssätt med fokus på patient, närstående och samhälle".

Rebecka Hultgren, Vascular Surgery, receives SEK 6 000 000, research project "How can we identify women and men with a high risk to develop aneurysm disease and prevent rupture and death?". 

Jannike Nickander, Clinical Physiology, receives SEK 3 600 000, research project "Unveiling the pathophysiological mechanisms of coronary microvascular dysfunction from molecular pathways to diagnostic imaging".

Ljubica Matic, Vascular Surgery, receives SEK 720 000, research project "The biology and targeting of Smooth Muscle Cells for therapeutic approaches in Vascular Disease".

Andreas Sigfridsson, Clinical Physiology, receives SEK 1 000 000, research project "Cardiac MRI for heart failure patients with atrial fibrillation who cannot hold their breath".

Ulrik Sartipy, Thoracic Surgery, receives SEK 1 215 000, research project "Kirurgiskt aortaklaffbyte hos yngre personer".

Felicia Seemann, Clinical Physiology, receives SEK  2 100 000, research project "Determining lung water MRI reference values at rest and exercise stress  -From health to heart failure".

Malin Stenman, Thoracic Surgery, receives SEK 240 000, research project "Perfusion and surgical management in patients with thoracic aortic disease".

David Marlevi, Clinical Physiology, receives SEK 3 000 000, research project "Magnetic resonance imaging of pathophysiology, treatment effect and outcome in hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy – paired imaging trials".
