Stockholm trio EU-course for researchers new to EU Research & Innovation
Expression of interest open until September 13, 2024.
Would you like to know more about how the Research & Innovation system of the EU works to boost your international research career? The EU research landscape is complex but if you learn to navigate the system, it offers many opportunities to contribute to both European research and to relevant EU-policies through its various initiatives, networks and EU-funded projects.
The University Alliance Stockholm Trio arranges for the third time an EU-course aimed at researchers new to EU funding and engagement. The purpose of the course is to give the participating researchers an increased understanding about how the EU works, with a focus on R&I, and an improved preparedness for participation in EU projects and initiatives with emphasis on the collaborative opportunities of pillar II. The course includes both general information on EU policy and the funding landscape but does not include training in proposal writing. The course will give you an opportunity to expand your network with Stockholm trio researchers and share experiences.
Course outcomes
- Participants have an enhanced understanding of the functioning of the EU and of EU R&I policy
- Participants have knowledge on how to engage in relevant networks, expert groups and EU initiatives and are prepared for participation in collaborative calls of pillar II in Horizon Europe
- Participants have drafted their own personal EU engagement plan
Course set-up
The course consists of two parts and is delivered through a mix of seminars and workshops, by invited speakers and the Brussels Office, in Stockholm and in Brussels:

Good candidates are those with little or no experience in applying for European funding, but with a demonstrated ability to collaborate in research and with an ambition to expand to Europe. The Stockholm Trio will cover cost of travel and accommodation for the days in Brussels.
