KI RIMS: Change of SCB Tags – Profile Pages and Group Pages Affected on ki.se

During week 8, KI RIMS will implement the new standard for the Swedish classification of research subjects from SCB and UKÄ. The new standard introduces entirely new subject areas, while some are removed or renamed. On Monday, February 17th, all data retrieval from KI RIMS to profile pages and group pages will be turned off. Changes you make in KI RIMS will be visible from Tuesday the 18th.

In the field of medicine, several new subjects will be added, including medical biostatistics. At the same time, some subjects will be divided; for example, epidemiology will become its own subject instead of being part of public health science, global health, and social medicine. Additionally, urology and nephrology will be separated into their own subjects. This is just a sample of the changes taking place.

The change will cause some disruptions on profile pages and group pages during the process. Profile pages and group pages may temporarily contain both the old and new classifications simultaneously. Some listings of research groups on ki.se/research will not function as they are based on SCB subjects.

During Monday, February 17th, all data retrieval from KI RIMS to profile pages and group pages will be turned off. This means that any updates you make in KI RIMS on that day will not be visible on the web until the following day.

KI RIMS management and the communications office will manually change classifications for individuals and groups in KI RIMS throughout at least the whole of week 8 and possibly a bit longer.

The bibliometric unit at KIB will change classifications for publications automatically.
