During the spring of 2022 the Infrastructure Council rolled out two projects with the aim of increasing the number of users of KI's core facilities. One of the projects focuses on making research infrastructure available to business and industry, while the other focuses on improving web pages and searchability on the Internet.

The web page "Research Support & Services" has recently been developed to provide an overview of the support and specialised competences available to all researchers, both at their departments and at other units at KI.

Researchers at Karolinska Institutet reached 1.3 million international readers with articles written for the U.K.-based news platform The Conversation last year. Some 50 researchers also attended their digital workshops on how to pitch and write articles for the public. “I have found it extremely rewarding and hope more KI researchers will take the opportunity,” says postdoc Alessondra Speidel.

A year has passed now since Karolinska Institutet, the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Stockholm University formed the university alliance Stockholm trio. Together, the three academic institutions seek to develop and promote the international research and education environment of the Stockholm region, and will establish a joint office in Brussels.
