“Dementia from Cell to Society is a new course developed by KI together with Stiftelsen Silviahemmet. It is the first course of its kind to give a multi-professional perspective on dementia, and an opportunity to understand oral health and communicative function from different views”, said KI President Ole Petter Ottersen in his speech at the diploma ceremony at the Drottningholms Slottsteater.

On September 6, the first dentists, dental hygienists, and speech therapist were awarded diplomas at a ceremony in the presence of the KI president and HM Queen Silvia.

The course Dementia from Cell to Society is given by the Division of Physiotherapy at NVS. Taking part in the course are dentists, dental hygienists and speech therapists together with physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Course leader is Anna-Karin Welmer, with several teachers from other NVS divisions contributing, including Anna Brorsson, Division of Occupational Therapy and Erika Jonsson-Laukka, Division of ARC.
