NASP joined the final review meeting of the EXPERIENCE project in Pisa
In early September 2025, NASP’s team from Karolinska Institutet travelled to Pisa, Italy, for the third and final review meeting of the EXPERIENCE project, hosted by the University of Pisa. Running from January 2021 to June 2025, the project was funded under the EXCELLENT SCIENCE – Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) call within the Horizon 2020 framework of the European Commission.

The meeting brought together experts from all partner institutions, along with the European project coordinator and external reviewers in science and innovation. The day was marked by constructive discussions, valuable feedback, and reflections on more than four years of collaboration. The consortium extended its thanks to the reviewers for their ongoing guidance, as well as to colleagues across partner institutions whose commitment has been key to the project’s success.
Over the course of the project, EXPERIENCE has made a strong impact: publishing more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles, over 10 proceedings linked to 30 conference presentations in 15 countries across five continents, with many additional manuscripts currently under review.
Among its major achievements, the project successfully piloted the use of virtual reality (VR) combined with physiological monitoring and cognitive assessment to evaluate depressive symptoms. It also explored biofeedback-based approaches to support stress treatment, considering both clinical outcomes and user experience.
