MTC researchers in the Gunilla Karlsson Hedestam Group have published in Immunity this month

In their article, Paola Martinez-Murillo and colleagues (pictured above) identify a novel neutralizing antibody epitope present at the apex of the HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein (Env) spike. Single cell sorting of immunization-induced Env-specific memory B cells followed by isolation and characterization of monoclonal antibodies demonstrate how they bind the target epitope and definition of the antibody germline allele by next generation sequencing reveals the level of affinity maturation of the antibodies.
