Meet Patrik Ljungren, new HR administrator at NEURO

Patrik Ljunggren joins the Department of Neuroscience on 28 April 2025 and will be working alongside HR manager Felicia Petersson. We seized the opportunity to ask him a few questions, in view of his first days at work.
Hi Patrik, and welcome to NEURO!
What is your role and what will be you be working with?
My new role at KI and NEURO is that of an HR-administrator and I will mainly be working with the department's staff administration.
What do you look forward to the most in your new position?
I look forward to becoming part of the HR team and contributing to the important research and education activities going on at the department.
What were you up to before joining KI?
I was previously an HR consultant within the Education Administration at Stockholm Stad, and before that I worked in the private sector.
When you are not at work, what do you like to do most?
I like spending time with friends and family, working out and playing disc golf.
Tell us about the most beautiful place you’ve been to?
Definitely Trolltungan, one of Norway's amazing natural attractions. The rock sticks out of the mountain like a tongue, hanging approximately 700 metres above Lake Ringedalsvatnet.
Are you reading a book at the moment? Which one?
I am currently reading 'The escape from camp 14', the incredible story of Shin Dong-hyuk, the only person born in a North Korean gulag to have ever escaped to freedom.
