KI's new qualifications portfolio is now available as a report in KI RIMS

The new version of KI's qualifications portfolio is now available as a report in KI RIMS. This means that you can work with your qualifications portfolio in the same system that you already use to manage your research information, while your profile page on ki.se automatically becomes more complete, making it easier for potential collaborators, evaluators, and funders to find you.

The new reports Karolinska Institutet Meritportföljen / Karolinska Institutet Qualifications Portfolio i KI RIMS correspond to KI's qualifications portfolio for teachers and researchers, which is also used for docent applications since 1 November 2025. For those planning to apply for a docentship, there is also the H-index and citations report, where you can see your h-index and the total number of citations according to Web of Science.

One of the biggest advantages of working with the qualifications portfolio via KI RIMS is that you don't have to fill in all the information manually. The system retrieves information about publications, research grants, employment history, and degrees, which is then organized and formatted according to the qualifications portfolio's instructions. This reduces duplication of work and the risk of inconsistent information.

The information you register in KI RIMS is also reused in places other than the portfolio. Publications, research grants, and professional activities can also be displayed on your profile page on ki.se, provided that you have not hidden them by selecting the visibility level Internal. This, in turn, makes it easier to find you via both external search engines, such as Google, and via the new search tool for research information on ki.se, which is planned to be launched later this spring.

More information and instructions on how to work with the merit portfolio in KI RIMS can be found on the page Work with your qualificattions portfolio in KI RIMS on the staff portal. And on the page About KI RIMS, there is an overview of the data sources from which KI RIMS retrieves information.
