The program began with a warm welcome and an engaging icebreaker, setting the tone for open dialogue. A highlight of the morning was the keynote by Mariam Claeson, who shared insights from 50 years of global child health, reminding participants of the progress made and the work still ahead.

The retreat also addressed pressing global issues. Hampus Holmer, led a thought-provoking session on the changing geopolitical landscape and its implications for global health and child well-being.

After a social lunch activity, the afternoon focused on introspection and strategy. Under the guidance of Carina King, the group engaged in a KIRA self-assessment, discussing strengths, weaknesses, and priorities for the future. These conversations culminated in actionable takeaways and a shared vision for moving forward.

The day concluded with celebrations of the group’s successes over the past year and the awarding of prizes from the lively “Quiz Walk.” The retreat reinforced the group’s commitment to advancing child health globally, fostering resilience and innovation in an ever-changing world.
