End-of-term after-work for doctoral students at MedS

In June 2026, around 60 doctoral students, postdocs, and supervisors at the Department of Medicine, Solna, gathered for an end-of-term after-work to mingle and connect with colleagues across the department.

The evening kicked off with an introduction by Fredrik Wermeling, deputy director for doctoral studies. This was followed by a talk on career planning and networking by Vladimir Pabón-Martínez from the KI Career Service. 

Vladimir shared useful tips and practical insights about networking and why it matters. He also highlighted that Career Service offers a doctoral course in Career skills for scientists twice per year, with registration open via the course catalogue. He also encouraged anyone interested in internships to watch out for upcoming job listings, which are advertised every spring and autumn.

Upcoming networking opportunities 

Before the evening concluded with open mingling, the Head of Department, Helena Erlandsson Harris, reminded everyone of two upcoming events in the autumn of 2026:

  • KI North Conference (15 October 2026). Location: Aula Medica, Solna
  • MedS Conference (14–15 December 2026). Location: Djurönäset, Djurhamn.
