The Doctoral Programme in Biology of Infections and Global Health (BIGH) welcomes you to a workshop on AI in qualitative research.

Doctoral students will get credit for participating. Participation is in person only, and spots are limited to 20 students.

The objective of this workshop is to explore how Artificial Intelligence can support qualitative research. We will briefly introduce and discuss the potential applications of AI across the different stages of the qualitative research cycle, with a focus on data analysis.

Participants will engage in hands-on activities, coding an interview manually in pairs and then using AI-assisted coding. Through this exercise, we will compare human and AI approaches, discuss the strengths and limitations of each, and reflect on the implications for research quality, ethics, and methodology.
