Practise Swedish at The Cell's Language Café! At this session, researcher Pernilla Alencar Siljehag from KI will share her research on older people’s experiences of receiving help and care for the first time. The Language Café is for anyone curious about language, art and science.
Pernilla’s research seeks answers to what feels important when you realise that you can no longer manage everyday life on your own, and why you may still hesitate to apply for home care services. Pernilla will also talk about how identity and relationships with family and friends can be significant, and how older people, in their new role as users of home care services, help shape their own experience.
No prior knowledge is required. Each session starts from current art or research. You will receive a glossary linked to the theme and language support to help you talk about the topic.
