Welcome to join us for a Seminar Series on One Health. The Doctoral Programme in Public Health Science is pleased to invite you on three different seminars on May 8th, May 14th and May 20th, from 13.00 to 15.00. The events are hybrid.
Humanity faces unprecedented challenges in terms of climate change, species extinction, biodiversity loss and pollution. As the threats to the Earth and the health of its inhabitants intensify, the interconnectedness between humans, animals, and ecosystems becomes evident. In response, the concept of One Health has been developed. One Health is an integrated approach that aims to balance and optimize the health of people, animals, and ecosystems (WHO, 2023).
Different aspects of the topic will be discussed on the following occasions:
May 8th: Seminar 1- One Health: An introduction
May 14th: Seminar 2- Epidemiological insights in climate change and health
May 20th: Seminar 3- Current projects from a One Health perspective
The seminars series will be held by Elodie Eiffener, postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet and Ester Gubi from the Unit of Mental health at the Stockholm Region Center for Epidemiology and Community Medicine.
