Title: Stromal-epithelial crosstalk in skin inflammation, repair and cancer

Speaker: Prof. Sabine Werner from ETH Zürich, Switzerland

Professor Werner is an internationally recognized expert in tissue repair, wound healing, skin biology, and cancer research. Her laboratory focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating skin inflammation, tissue regeneration, fibrosis, and tumor development, with particular interest in stromal-epithelial interactions during skin homeostasis and disease.

Using state-of-the-art approaches including functional genomics, proteomics, primary cell culture systems, and genetically modified mouse models, her group investigates how communication between stromal and epithelial cells influences skin inflammation, repair, and cancer progression. She also leads SKINTEGRITY.CH, a collaborative research program aiming to better understand and treat skin diseases and impaired wound healing.
