In this lecture Professor J Mark Eddy will provide an overview of the core of research within the field of prevention and intervention programs to benefit children and families who are living in stressful circumstances.

Professor. J. Mark Eddy is a licensed psychologist, prevention scientist, and professor at the C ollege of Education, The University of Texas at Austin.

In this lecture he will provide an overview of the core of research within the field of prevention and intervention programs to benefit children and families who are living in stressful circumstances.


Professor Eddy’s primary research interests include the development and prevention of child antisocial behavior and related problem behaviors, such as substance use and abuse and academic failure; the development of multimodal preventive interventions for incarcerated parents, their children, and the caregivers of their children; early childhood education, and professional youth mentoring. His research on parenting and family interventions for parents and children affected by parental incarceration is in the forefront within the international research field.
