Modelling human neurodegenerative disorders using direct neuronal reprogramming

Johan Jakobsson is a Professor of Neuroscience at Lund University and the Director of Lund Stem Cell Center. His lab is interested in transposable elements and how these viral-like sequences influence human brain evolution, neurodegenerative diseases, brain tumors and ageing. His expertise includes human stem cell cultures, viral vectors, gene editing, cellular reprogramming and bioinformatical analysis of transposons.

Prof. Jakobsson will be member of the examination board at the PhD thesis defence of Mandy Meijer.
