Lectures and seminars KIND Discussions
KIND invites you to a day of online lectures and discussions on current and widely debated concepts related to autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions. The event will be held in Swedish.
Researchers associated with KIND (Center of Neurodevelopmental Disorders at KI) come together to explore complex questions and discuss different perspectives. The format is discussion-based, with an emphasis on openness and transparency: no predetermined answers, and no simple right or wrong.
The day will focus on two current concepts: masking (camouflaging) and EDA (Extreme Demand Avoidance, also referred to as PDA, Pathological Demand Avoidance). Each theme begins with an introductory lecture providing background and an overview of the current state of research, followed by a discussion exploring different perspectives. Professor Sven Bölte will also give brief introductions to the concepts of Body Doubling and Double Empathy.
