Seminar description
The RPE-scale in a new illumination.
The Swedish Professor Gunnar Borg developed the very well-known and widely used Borg scale for rating the perceived exertion (RPE) during physical activity. It is based on studies of these relations in laboratory. This session is based on two Swedish and two American studies which strongly indicate that the RPE at a given physiological exertion is altered when exercising outdoors, and that the extent of this alteration might depend on the character of the external environment. An potential explanatory mechanism for this Important phenomenon is also presented.
