About Björn Meidal
Björn Meidal is Professor Emeritus of literary science at Uppsala University and has written several books.
In 1982, Björn Meidal earned his PhD with a dissertation on Strindbergsfejden ("The Strindberg fight"). Since then, he has been the editor of a large number of books about the author, including several volumes of Strindberg’s letters (XVI–XXII). He has held visiting professorships at, among others, Åbo Akademi, Humboldt-Universität in Berlin, Catholic University, Washington, D.C., the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and the University of Maryland in the USA. From 1995 to 2008, he was chairman of the Strindbergssällskapet ("the Strindberg Society"), and from 1986 to 2007, a member of the editorial committee for August Strindbergs Samlade Verk (the Collected Works).
