Molecular epidemiology of human biological aging.

Short abstract

The Hägg research group focuses on epidemiological studies of aging, with a special interest in markers of biological aging and the association with age-related traits such as frailty, cardiometabolic diseases, Parkinson and dementia. We are also interested in pharmacoepidemiology and studies on drug repurposing using large genotype data and Swedish registers. The data we work on come from the Swedish Twin Registry, Swedish National registers, Swedish population-based cohorts (LifeGene, EpiHealth), UK Biobank, clinical hospital data and using National Infrastructures (NEAR, SIMPLER) among other samples.
