How can a research career be combined with clinical work? And what are the obstacles when research findings are to be implemented in healthcare? Meet Elham Rostami, Erika Franzén, Olof Akre, and Åsa Mikaelsson Olsson in a discussion about the conditions for clinical research.

The discussion will be held in Swedish, but the audience may ask questions in English.

Participants

Elham Rostami, Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Karolinska Institutet, neurosurgeon at Akademiska University Hospital, and Vice Chair of the Young Academy of Sweden.
Erika Franzén, Professor of Physiotherapy and incoming Dean of Doctoral Education at Karolinska Institutet, as well as physiotherapist at Karolinska University Hospital.
Olof Akre, Professor of Cancer Surgery at Karolinska Institutet and Director of Research, Development, Education and Innovation at Karolinska University Hospital.
Åsa Mikaelsson Olsson, PhD student at Karolinska Institutet and specialist nurse in the City of Stockholm.

Moderator

Helena Bornholm, Head of Outreach at the Young Academy of Sweden.

Curie Talks is a collaboration between Curie Magazine, the Young Academy of Sweden, and Swedish universities. The series highlights current issues related to the conditions for research and is open to everyone, but is particularly aimed at early-career researchers and doctoral students at the host institution. The talks are recorded and published in the Curie podcast. Curie Magazine is published by the Swedish Research Council.
