Alexander Fletcher-Sandersjöö appointed as docent in experimental surgery

Alexander Fletcher-Sandersjöö is a researcher at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, the Division of Neuro, Karolinska Institutet, and a a neurosurgical resident at Karolinska University Hospital. He received his PhD from Karolinska Institutet in 2024 in the field of neurotraumatology.

Alexander Fletcher-Sandersjöö’s research focuses on hematoma expandion after traumatic brain injury, with particular emphasis on the hemostatic changes that occur after injury and how they may contribute to continued intracranial bleeding. The aim is to improve how hematoma expansion is measured and predicted, and to develop early, individualised hemostatic treatment.
