Agneta Åkesson elected to the The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the National committee on Nutrition and Food Science

Agneta is professor of epidemiology, specializing in nutrition and toxicology, and head of the unit of cardiovascular and nutritional epidemiology at IMM. The research is about how diet and lifestyle, and various environmental pollutants affect our health. By establishing this new area of research, where we combine epidemiological research with expertise in nutrition, toxicology, and environmental medicine, we further improve the understanding of factors of importance for the prevention of major chronic disease and for sustainability.
