Welcome to nominate candidates for the Hagberg Prize 2024

Welcome to nominate candidates for the Hagberg Prize and Research Grant for young researchers by October 24, 2024.

The distribution from the Sven and Ebba-Christina Hagberg Foundation is in the form of a prize and a research grant to two young, postdoctoral researchers (one woman and one man). Researchers who have completed their post-doc and are in the process of establishing their own research activities are prioritized. The awardees must have a position at Karolinska Institutet.

The prize amount for each awardee is SEK 650,000, of which the prize money constitutes SEK 175,000 and the research grant SEK 475,000.

This year’s prize and research grant pertain to the field of medicine (all research activities at KI), and eligible nominators are professors in medical subjects at Karolinska Institutet.

The definition of a young researcher is that the nominee must have obtained their doctoral degree no more than 7 years before the end of the nomination period, i.e., not before October 24, 2017. The period can be extended by up to 24 months if the nominee has been on parental leave, long-term sick leave, or has undertaken clinical service or military service after the dissertation.

Nominations must be submitted as a document, in PDF format, to fonder@ki.se no later than Thursday, October 24, 2024.

The nomination should include a clear justification, as well as the nominee’s CV, publication list, and research program (3–5 pages)
