Two KI representatives to serve on government's new research commission
The president of Karolinska Institutet, Harriet Wallberg-Henriksson, and dean Martin Ingvar have been selected to serve on the government's new research commission.
The research commission is an advisory entity for the government on research-related issues, and comprises people from the science and industry sectors. Representing Karolinska Institutet are Harriet Wallberg-Henriksson, president and professor of physiology, and Martin Ingvar, dean of research and professor of integrative medicine.
"It's imperative for Sweden to be a world-leading research nation," writes Education Minister Jan Björklund in a press release. "The research commission is a venue where representatives of academia, research and industry are able to meet the government and discuss how we can best stand firm in the face of global competition."
The commission will focus on the research bill that the government will be tabling in the autumn of 2012.
