Times Higher Education ranks KI 28th in the world and 8th in Europe
Karolinska Institutet is placed 28th in this year’s Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings and 8th in Europe. Almost the same position compared to last year, with the exception that KI then ended up in place 9 in Europe.
The subject category of clinical, pre-clinical and health, in which KI is compared with other medical universities, will be published in October.

KI remains stable in earlier university rankings
The 2016 Academic Ranking of World Universities, the Shanghai ranking, published in August, showed that Karolinska Institutet remains stable. KI climbed to number 44 in the world and number 10 in Europe. In the field of Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy KI remained in the same place as last year – number 12 in the world and number 3 in Europe.
