The SOF Research Retreat held 18 – 19th October 2023

At the initiative of the SOF Steering Committee, a research retreat was held to bring researchers from KI Dental Medicine together with researchers and actors from public (Folktandvården AB) and private (Praktikertjänst AB) dentistry in Stockholm.

The aim was to lift odontological research, strengthen collaborations and increase competence for national and international funding. Professor Mats Ulfendahl gave the keynote lecture on “What makes a successful grant application”. Presentations were also provided by KI Research Support Office, Centre for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics and Dental Medicine Economy Unit. Professor Anders Gustafsson chaired a panel discussion on “The future of dental research”.

Region Stockholm and Karolinska Institutet (KI) have a common goal of improving dental care in Stockholm County through research and development. Through the Styrgruppen för odontologisk forskning (SOF), which as of 2021 announces annual project funding for clinical odontological research.
