The process of procuring a Research Information Management System (RIMS) is now in its final stages – we are evaluating candidates.

The process of procuring a Research Information Management System (RIMS) is now entering the phase where the tenders that meet all the set requirements are to be evaluated.

The suppliers who have qualified will demonstrate their solutions to a newly formed evaluation group during week 13. The evaluation group consists of 18 representatives from different parts of KI's operations. Nine are appointed by the deans of the North, South and Solna campuses, one comes from the Medical Association, one from the Junior Faculty and seven represent other central functions.

After the evaluation, negotiations will follow with the tenderer(s) that score high enough. It may also be relevant with supplementary presentations where tenderers have to answer further questions or show their solutions in more detail. KI shall announce its choice of supplier no later than June 3. Two weeks from that, an agreement will be in place.

After the procurement process is completed, the project moves to planning for the implementation of the system at KI. The goal is that a KI-RIMS will be in operation at the beginning of 2023.

About the project:

The System Support for Research Information Project is part of the Information Management program at KI which is based upon the university-wide operational plan of Strategy 2030

The aim of the project and the acquisition of a RIMS:

Adequate, up-to-date and accurate information about KI's ongoing and completed research and researchers shall be easily accessible to both external and internal users. The project must achieve this without increased administration for researchers and others who handle research information.
