The Final Evaluation of the Linnaeus Grant – A ten year program for establishing Centres of Excellence

The evaluation of the Linnaeus centres is now completed. The investment by the Swedish Research Council in 40 Linnaeus centres has been going on for over 10 years and has cost a total of SEK 2.8 Billions. It was evaluated by the following criteria by an international panel.

Three HEIs were selected as the top three in each category, and KI was included in two of these.

1. Capacity building where Umeå University, Linköping University and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences are highlighted.
2. Research performance where CERIC, KI are prominent in Medical Sciences.
3. Societal relevance (added afterwards) where CrisP, KI is mentioned as a good example.
