The Crafoord Prize in Polyarthritis 2013 to Lars Klareskog
[NEWS 2013-01-17] The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the Crafoord Prize in Polyarthritis 2013 to Lars Klareskog, Professor of Reumatology at the Department of Medicine, Solna, Karolinska Institutet.
Lars Klareskog receives the price together with Peter K. Gregersen,The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, Manhasset, NY, USA, and Robert J. Winchester, Columbia University, New York, NY, USA for "their discoveries concerning the role of different genetic factors and their interactions with environmental factors in the pathogenesis, diagnosis and clinical management of rheumatoid arthritis".
The Prize award ceremony is to be held at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (RSAS) on 2 May 2013, in the presence of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Sweden.
