Strong support for Annika Östman Wernerson as new president of KI

[UPDATE 2022-09-22] Annika Östman Wernerson receives strong support as new president of KI. This is shown by the advisory vote that the Consultative College, consisting of 119 representatives, teachers, students, and other staff, has carried out. The Election Committee decided at their meeting on September 20, to bring forward Östman Wernerson to the University Board as a proposal for new president of KI.

After a digital vote in the Consultative College, the result was: 78.1 percent of the votes for Annika Östman Wernerson and 9.6 percent of the votes for Eva Tiensuu Janson. 12.3 percent abstained from voting.

The vote was preceded by the two final candidates presenting themselves in a hearing with the Consultative College.

The Election Committee, appointed by the University Board, met during the evening of September 20 to decide which candidate they should propose to the University Board as new president of KI. The Election Committee then considered the results of the Consultative College’s vote.

The University Board is ultimately responsible for the recruitment process and brings forward to the government the candidate they recommend as KI’s new president.
