Register your notice of interest for the positions of the Docent Committee

The Faculty Board is now inviting notices of interest for the positions of chairperson and vice-chairperson and up to five ordinary members for the Docent Committee. The Docent Committee decides on matters relating to applications for the title of docent and on procedural instructions for the acceptance of docents in accordance with the regulations.

The Docent Committee has seven members.

  • Chairperson, vice-chairperson and up to five ordinary members
  • Student representatives

About the process
The Faculty Board proposes candidates for the positions chairperson and vice-chairperson. The president decides which candidates are to fill these positions.

Roles
As a member of the Docent Committee, you will take part in the work of the Docent Committee at and between meetings. The chairperson of the Committee leads its work at such times and supports the HR specialists who prepare the required documentation. The vice-chairperson prepares and participates in the meetings of the committee and stands in for the chairperson when he/she is unable to attend.

Competence and experience
Applicants must be a teacher and docent at KI, be active in research and education and  have a thorough knowledge of KI’s research and education activities. Applicants must also have good experience of assessing applications for academic titles such as docent or similar.

The assignment includes assessing applications and conducting interviews in both Swedish and English. Satisfactory knowledge and skills in both languages are therefore required.

Duration and remuneration
The assignments run from 1 July 2023 to 31 December 2026.

Remuneration is paid in the form of a salary bonus and compensation to the relevant department in accordance with the instructions relating to remuneration  for specific assignments (in Swedish).

Notice of interest
Your notice of interest must include:

  • Reasons why you are interested in the assignment (max half A4 page)
  • CV (two pages), including your current position and relevant qualifications for the assignment, including educational assignments
  • List of ten selected publications

Please specify if you are interested in the position of chairperson and/or vice-chairperson.

Process workgroup
The Faculty Board has appointed a workgroup to oversee the process, comprising Christer Höög (dean), Ewa Ehrenborg (academic vice president), Catharina Larsson (faculty representative) and Daniel Söderberg (student representative).
