Professor Johan Sandberg has been awarded grant from the US National Institutes of Health
Professor Johan Sandberg at CIM has been awarded a R01 grant from the US National Institutes of Health.
The granted project is performed in collaboration with researchers at the University of California in Davis, and scientists at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, MD. The awarded project has the title ”Intestinal MAIT cells in HIV infection” and aims to understand the role of Mucosa-associated Invariant T (MAIT) cells in HIV immunopathogenesis, with a particular focus on acute stages of the infection.
The grant totals more than 2.5 Million USD for the consortium over 5 years.
