Professor Emeritus Georg Klein dies aged 91

Georg Klein tragically passed away on December 10th. Georg was Professor Emeritus at Karolinska Institutet, and has been a research group leader at the Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) since the 1990's. Last year Georg and his wife and colleague Professor Emeritus Eva Klein celebrated their 90th birthdays. The event was commemorated with a scientific symposium, attended by international cancer researchers, colleagues, and many of the Kleins' former students.

"I was deeply saddened to receive the news about the passing of a great researcher, teacher and role model. Georg Klein and his wife Eva have contributed enormously to Karolinska Institutet, the global research community and to tumour biology research in general.
