Postdoc scholarship awarded to Armita Golkar
Armita Golkar in Andreas Olsson's research group at the Division of Psychology has recently been awarded an international postdoc scholarship from Vetenskapsrådet amounting to about 3 million Swedish kronor.
The aim of Armita's project, which is named "Erasing fear through social learning" and is being carried out in cooperation with the University of Amsterdam, is to provide a mechanistic account of how social safety learning – learning through observing the safety behavior of other individuals – can persistently change established fear memories in humans. The project fits into a research field where there is growing evidence on how socially transmitted information may shape human learning but where less is known about how social information can influence established emotional memories.
