Patrik Ernfors receives ERC grant

Patrik Ernfors, professor of tissue biology at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics at Karolinska Institutet, is one of the 50 researchers who are receiving "Proof-of-Concept" grants from European Research Council (ERC).

The grants of up to 150 000 euro each can cover costs related to test the market potential of research projects. The grants can be awarded to researchers who already hold an ERC grant.

Patrik Ernfors is researching a new type of treatment of glioblastoma cancer. The average survival with convential treatment is just 15 months.
