Status of blasting works at Hälsovägen in Flemingsberg

Blasting works will continue during week 15 and hopefully, if nothing delays this work, it should be finished after that.

There are few minor blasts left but now detail blasting is required and it takes longer time for this work.

Along Hälsovägen and nearby houses, postings with flag guards will take place when the blasting work approaches Hälsovägen. Interruption for passage on these occasions is a matter of minutes.

Background for the work to be performed
SVEAB Anläggning AB has been commissioned by Huddinge Kommun and Stockholm Vatten AB to, among other things, build new water and wastewater pipes, stormwater pipes, wells, etc. on Hälsovägen 2 in Huddinge.

The project includes work as blasting, excavation, sheet piling, etc. which creates vibrations.

Construction will start in February 2021 and construction is expected to continue until mid-2023.

The businesses that may be affected have been contacted by KI's facilitie department. If you need further information, you can contact Anette Lebbad at the Facilitie department at anette.lebbad@ki.se

Facts of the micro-tunnel: Instead of laying the pipes between the submersible wells with traditional methods (shaft, pipe laying and filling), SVEAB will instead use the micro-tunnel drilling method. Micro-tunnel drilling means that a tunnel is drilled with a tunnel boring machine that is controlled from ground level. When the drill is advancing, pipes are simultaneously pushed forward, which results in a continuous wiring between two wells. This type of work usually does not involve high levels of vibration and noise.
