September update on coordinated IT (sam-IT)

KI's University Director has decided that all departments must be part of Coordinated IT, and currently 16 departments are fully integrated. MEB already uses several core services, such as the network, Office 365 and some storage.

More information about the decision and the project: https://staff.ki.se/coordinated-it

Now it is time for the next step, which is to migrate MEB's users to a standard client, a so-called Karyon, which will be managed by ITA.

Current plan:

  • A pilot study including participants from the Biobank and another grouping where system access is largely dependent on MEB's AD must be carried out and approved.
  • A final strategy for how full access via AD to MEB's resources looks like when the user logs in with their KI-ID from a Karyon client will be developed.
  • The rollout will take place based on a grouping of MEB's users. The plan includes the time we estimate it will take but also how we ensure that the migration can take place with the least possible impact on our activities.
