Power shutdown in Neo, June 1-2
During the night between June 1st and 2nd, there will be a power shutdown in Neo. *** Please note that contrary to normal expectations, it is the power outlets that provide BACKUP power that will be UNPOWERED. ***
The plan is to start shutting things down at 19:00 (7 pm) on Tuesday 2021-06-01 and the expectation is that everything that is ON BACKUP POWER WILL BE UNPOWERED, but that things on "normal" power will function as usual.
However, it is recommended that everything that can be shut down overnight should be turned off before the start and turned back on again the morning after.
If everything goes according to plan, the power will be off for about 4 hours, then turned back on for ~1 hour to let freezers etc recover a bit and then turned off again until the work has been completed. Anything that normally would have to be kept running, such as freezers, should be checked in the morning to ensure that they are operational.
Any freezers, sensitive cold storage or anything else that might take some time to recover should, if possible, to be given time to recover before being opened/operated the following morning.
Due to ongoing concerns with how certain critical systems are powered, namely ITA resources in the Neo basement, this power shutdown might not cover the full maintenance necessary. Instead, those systems will be examined to determine how to best proceed and the maintenance may be deferred until a later date. However, if part of the maintenance is delayed, it should not affect the freezer hotel or facilities on floors 6, 7, 8.
