Nursing education and research at KI rank number one in Europe and number fourth worldwide
This year, The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) ranks KI as the fourth best university worldwide regarding nursing. Only the University of Pennsylvania (USA), Griffith University (Australia) and Johns Hopkins University (USA) rank higher, making nursing at KI number one in Europe.
– We are extremely pleased to find nursing at KI so high up in the ranking, says Veronica Lindström, head of the Division of Nursing. It shows that there are many teachers and researchers doing very important work for the development of nursing. In my opinion, nursing is the core of person-centered care to enhance health, increase patient safety and facilitate sustainability. I think this has been evident especially during the pandemic.
– As part of the management of the Division of Nursing, where the majority of the courses within the nursing and specialist nursing programmes are conducted, I feel very proud of all the colleagues and co-workers who have contributed to us being at the top of this ranking.
The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the Shanghai Ranking, is regarded as one of the top three most influential and widely observed university rankings.
