New vice-chairman of the Education Committee at First and Second Cycle Level
From 1 April, Rune Brautaset will be the new vice-chairman of the Committee on Education at First and Second Cycle Level. This was decided by the vice-chancellor on 23 March 2021. Rune Brautaset was previously deputy vice-chairman in the autumn of 2019.
"So I've already had a taste of the role and I know what I've gotten myself into. With a long background in education administration at KI, I have a lot of experience that I now hope will be of benefit for all of the educational activities at KI. In other words, it will be exciting to have more time for things I am passionate about," says Rune Brautaset.
Rune Brautaset has been working at KI since 2000. In 2015, he was awarded KI’s Pedagogical Prize for the development of the optician programmes at KI and for harmonising optometric courses throughout Europe. He has been responsible for several investigations related to pedagogy at KI, such as criteria for degree projects and the investigation that resulted in the establishment of the Education and Learning unit. Within the Committee, the areas he has worked with have included the financial aspects of education, and academic responsibility for KI's delegation that worked on the application for a European University – NeuroTech, of which KI is now a member.
