New search engine on ki.se
As of today, Friday, June 27, ki.se — including nyheter.ki.se, medarbetare.ki.se, and utbildning.ki.se — has a new search service.
The new search engine is now available on the website in its first version.
As the search service is used, it will gradually learn more about what is relevant and thereby improve over time.
After the summer, the web management team will continue working on the search engine and add more features: additional filters, specific layouts for certain types of search results — such as for people, news, programs, and courses. We will also add more curated results if needed, synonyms, and more, as well as monitor the search engine’s performance and fine-tune it continuously.
The new search engine has been purchased from the Finnish provider AddSearch. One of the reasons for the change is that the search engine previously used on ki.se — Google Programmable Search — has not worked particularly well when accessed from our campuses.
