New division name - Family Medicine renamed Family Medicine and Primary Care

As of 1 March, 2017, the Division of Family Medicine will have a new name: Division of Family Medicine and Primary Care.

Since long, the division has had a focus on the entire primary health care, and not just from a family medicine perspective. Education, doctoral education and research at the division involves both subjects and professions of all of the primary care.

“We have a developed translational and inter-professional orientation of primary care as a common denominator. At the same time, it is important to state a distinct residency for the field of family medicine at KI, especially considering our important role within the education of medical doctors”, says Gunnar Nilsson, Head of the division.
