NeurotechEU's Rectors met in Romania
The 3rd European University of Brain and Technology (NeurotechEU) Board of Rectors Meeting was held on 16-18 May 2022. The event, hosted by UMF "Iuliu Hațieganu” in Cluj Romania, was attended by leaders of top universities from Europe, joined by professors, project managers, and students.
Old and new members attended
Delegates represented Radboud University (Netherlands), Miguel Hernández University (Spain), Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), University of Bonn (Germany), Boğaziçi University (Turkey), University of Debrecen (Hungary) and the host - University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Iuliu Hațieganu" from Cluj-Napoca (Romania). In addition, representatives of new associate partners of the Alliance were also present: Georgia Tech-Lorraine (France) and the University of Reykjavik (Iceland)
The meeting schedule included a series of work sessions, discussions, and lectures, both at the management level on the common goals of partner universities and at the technical level on ongoing projects such as Neurotech Research and Innovation dedicated to supporting students and PhD students involved in neuroscience research and innovation.
A very important feature of this consortium is that we will benefit from each other's expertise, and we will enhance the activities that each university has both in terms of education and research. Together we hope to create a new educational paradigm.

Mariya Gabriel, the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, who was in Cluj-Napoca the day after the meeting, expressed her interest and offered her full support for the development of projects within the NeurotechEU consortium and other European university alliances, saying that "cooperation between universities within European alliances is essential to build an innovative, specialized and talent-oriented European education area."
Next meeting hosted by Spanish member
The next meeting of the NeurotechEU Consortium Rectors will take place in Alicante, Spain, and will be hosted by Miguel Hernández University.
