Master’s students celebrate special KI scholarship
Last Wednesday, 28 October, Karolinska Institutet held its “Global Masters Scholarship Ceremony” in honour of the non-European Master’s students who receive a scholarship on the basis of academic merit every year to cover the cost of their tuition fees at KI.
The scholarship was first awarded three years ago, when Sweden introduced tuition fees for students from countries outside the EU. Every year since then, between five and ten scholarships been awarded to students selected from a highly competitive starting field of over 300 each time.
Attending the ceremony were Vice-Chancellor Anders Hamsten, Pro-Dean of Higher Education Gunnar Nilsson and representatives of the global Master’s programmes, along with the students themselves and their guests.
