LIME has a new Head of Department
After being LIME's Acting Head of Department for 4 months Sabine Koch has been appointed as ordinary Head of Department as of 1st July 2024.
First female Head of Department
As the first female Head of Department in the history of LIME professor Sabine Koch takes over the role as ordinary Head of Department on the first of July 2024.
From Medical informatics to Health Informatics
Sabine holds both a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. degree in Medical Informatics from Ruprecht-Karls University Heidelberg in Germany.
- I got into the field of medical informatics in 1988 which I five years later combined with research in human-computer interaction and I enjoy working in this inspiring cross-disciplinary field since then.
Strategic Professor
Since 2008, Sabine has been the Strategic Professor of Health Informatics at Karolinska Institutet and the Director of HIC, the Health Informatics Centre at LIME, the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics.
Programme Director
From 2012 - 2016, Sabine Koch was the Programme Director for the Global Master's Programme in Health Informatics, a joint programme with the Department of Computer and Systems Science at Stockholm University.
Head of Department
This is not the first time Sabine appears for LIME, she acted as Deputy Head of Department between 2014 and 2022, and during the resent process of recruiting a new Head of Department during 2023-2024.
