KI professor awarded the 2013 Torsten Söderberg Academy Professorial Chair in Medicine
[NEWS 2013-11-04] Jonas Frisén, professor of stem cell research at the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, Karolinska Institutet, has been awarded the 2013 Torsten Söderberg Academy Professorial Chair in Medicine, "for his pioneering and world-leading research into how new cells are formed in the adult brain and spinal cord in humans and animals, both normally and in the presence of injury and disease."

The professorship, which is financed by the Torsten Söderberg Foundation, has been established to promote full-time, internationally leading medical research for a term of five years. The total grant is for SEK 10 million.
