KI at 42 in Times Higher ranking

[NEWS 2012-10-04] Karolinska Institutet has been ranked in 42nd place in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University ranking for 2012-13, placing the university ninth in Europe and first in the Nordic region.

The list is topped by the California Institute of Technology, followed by Oxford University and then Stanford University. The next Swedish institution in the ranking after Karolinska Institutet is Lund University at 82nd place. Uppsala University ranks 106th, with Stockholm University coming in at 117 and the Royal Institute of Technology at 140.

The more discipline-specific ranking, which is of more relevance to Karolinska Institutet as a medical university, will be published at the end of the month.
